Workspace Plans are for teams building and managing sites. Freelancers with 1–2 projects might stay on the free Starter Workspace, but agencies and product teams need paid workspace seats.

If you need a beautiful, maintainable website without a developer, Squarespace's drag-and-drop editor is faster and cheaper. Webflow's power comes with complexity — you're essentially writing CSS visually, which requires more skill to use effectively.
Framer (~$10–30/month/site) is the closest design-code alternative to Webflow. Framer has a more modern interface and is particularly popular for marketing sites. Its pricing is simpler (per-site, no workspace complexity) but it has a smaller template/plugin ecosystem and lacks Webflow's CMS depth.
When Webflow wins: Complex content-driven sites with custom CMS structures, agencies managing many client sites, and teams that need design control beyond what Squarespace offers but want to avoid raw code. Webflow's CMS is genuinely powerful for structured content.
