Webflow Pricing 2026:
Site Plans, Workspace Plans & True Cost

Webflow has two separate pricing systems that confuse nearly every new user: Site Plans (what you pay to host and publish a site) and Workspace Plans (what you pay per seat for your team). Here's how they work, what changed in the 2023 restructure, and whether Webflow is worth it.

📢
2023 Major Restructure: Webflow completely overhauled its pricing in 2023, splitting the old "Account Plans" into the new Workspace system and changing site plan tiers significantly. Many users saw effective cost increases of 25–60%. Monitor Webflow for future changes →

Understanding Webflow's Two Pricing Systems

Important: Webflow has two completely separate pricing dimensions. You pay for both:

  • Site Plans — Per website. Required to publish a site on a custom domain. Covers hosting, bandwidth, forms, and CMS items.
  • Workspace Plans — Per team. Required for collaboration features, staging sites, and managing multiple projects. Charged per seat for paid members.

Webflow Site Plans (Per Website) — 2026

Site Plans cover hosting. Every published site needs one. Free (Webflow subdomain only) or paid for custom domains.

Webflow Workspace Plans (Per Team Seat) — 2026

Workspace Plans are for teams building and managing sites. Freelancers with 1–2 projects might stay on the free Starter Workspace, but agencies and product teams need paid workspace seats.

Webflow Price Increase History

Complete Pricing Restructure — Workspace Plans Introduced August 2023
Webflow's most significant pricing change in its history. The old Account Plans (Individual, Lite, Pro, Team) were replaced with Workspace Plans. Site plans were also restructured. Many long-time customers saw effective price increases of 25–60%, particularly freelancers and small agencies who were on the old $35/month Pro plan and were moved to Core at $19/seat/month — a per-seat increase if they had even 2 collaborators.

CMS Site Plan Price Increase 2022
Webflow raised the CMS site plan from $16/month to $23/month annually — a 44% increase. The increase was framed around expanded CMS items (from 2,000 to maintained) and bandwidth increases, but represented a significant jump for small content sites and blogs on the platform.

Original Pricing Architecture 2016–2021
Webflow's original pricing was simpler: site plans (Basic, CMS, Business, Enterprise) for hosting, and account plans (Lite, Pro, Team) for building. This architecture was more transparent and worked well for freelancers. The old Lite plan at $16/month for unlimited projects was particularly popular and was effectively eliminated in the 2023 restructure.

Is Webflow Worth It vs. Squarespace and Framer?

Squarespace ($16–52/month) is significantly simpler and cheaper for non-technical users. If you need a beautiful, maintainable website without a developer, Squarespace's drag-and-drop editor is faster and cheaper. Webflow's power comes with complexity — you're essentially writing CSS visually, which requires more skill to use effectively.

Framer (~$10–30/month/site) is the closest design-code alternative to Webflow. Framer has a more modern interface and is particularly popular for marketing sites. Its pricing is simpler (per-site, no workspace complexity) but it has a smaller template/plugin ecosystem and lacks Webflow's CMS depth.

When Webflow wins: Complex content-driven sites with custom CMS structures, agencies managing many client sites, and teams that need design control beyond what Squarespace offers but want to avoid raw code. Webflow's CMS is genuinely powerful for structured content.

Webflow Pricing FAQ

Do I need both a Site Plan and a Workspace Plan?
For solo freelancers building one site for themselves: you can use the free Starter Workspace (solo only) and add a paid Site Plan ($14–39/month) just for hosting. For agencies or teams collaborating on sites: yes, you'll need a paid Workspace Plan per seat in addition to Site Plans for each live site. The total cost can be substantial for teams.
What is the cheapest way to use Webflow for a live website?
The minimum for a solo user to have a live site on a custom domain: free Starter Workspace (solo only) + Basic Site Plan at $14/month annually. That gets you a static site with custom domain. For a blog or CMS, add CMS Site Plan at $23/month. Adding collaborators requires a paid Workspace Plan, which starts at $14/seat/month.
Can I export Webflow code?
Yes — Webflow allows HTML/CSS/JS code export. Basic export is available on the free plan, but advanced code export (including CMS export, clean semantic HTML) requires the Core Workspace plan ($19/seat/month) or higher. Exported code doesn't include Webflow's CMS functionality or hosting — it's a static export.
Does Webflow have a free plan?
Yes. The free Starter plan lets you build sites in Webflow with a webflow.io subdomain (no custom domain). It's limited to 2 development sites and 1 staging site, and only supports solo use. It's genuinely useful for learning and prototyping. To publish to a custom domain or collaborate with others, paid plans are required.
